A new episode of the web series – titled A Drop of True Blood – will launch each week on the web until the third season debuts on June 13. The first features Eric and Pam as they audition new dancers for the vampire bar Fangtasia.

The six episodes were written by the series creator, Alan Ball, and star all the cast members, including those who play Sookie, Bill, and Tara.

After they debut on Yahoo, they will be available on HBO.com and the True Blood Facebook page. They will also air on HBO itself on May 2, after an encore episode of the series, writes Broadcasting & Cable.

HBO has used a variety of smart marketing tactics to promote the popular series about a telepath and her blood-sucking friends. This season, the cable net is engaged in a 12-week poster campaign, with a new poster being unveiled each week.

A campaign for season two saw BMW’s Mini USA, Gillette and Harley-Davidson teaming up with HBO on ads that proclaimed, for instance, “Feel the wind in your fangs.”

The first season saw a campaign that offered vending machines filled with a “synthetic blood nourishment beverage” called Tru Blood.

Last year’s premiere of True Blood posted 3.7 million total viewers, more than twice that of the season one series premiere and 51% higher than the show’s season-one ender.
